Antique signature quilt from Readfield, Maine. 1856 is written under 2 signatures. Each sqaure has a signature, sometimes with a little note, written in ink. I don’t know how this quilt ended up in my family cottage in Northern Ontario but my mom thinks her great grandmother used to go to the early 1900s equivalent of flea markets or thrift stores and buy quilts for the cottage.
